Default Should the Chargers sign Ryan Matthews?

I think this would be great if we have the cap space.

I was hoping for a rb in the later rounds so yes i would like them to pick someone up.At the right price. After reading that ,he would add real depth to the rb postion. We know we need quality depth ,there needs to be a threat at all times.Wear on the defense all game. Not be so tenative to give Gordon a rest.Keep him fresh for the 4th.Knows the offense.

It would be more fun if they cut Sproles and we signed him-

Mathews injured his neck at the end of last season--herniated disc--which his own coach called a "significant injury". He was supposed to get surgery for it. With his injury history and at nearly 30, too risky IMO...

Depends on the cost and his willingness to accept an adjusted role... It is interesting that his history of injury means that there are less miles on his body than other RBs that are nearly 30. I think Mathews could be quite valuable as a backup RB.... but will he play the role of a backup at backup type money?

Eh, I don't know if the he's been injured so he has less miles thing is accurate. I feel like getting injured over and over is worse than having those extra miles on you.

Yep, I think those injuries slowly but surely sap away your "talent" or "ability" to play at a high level. You get enough of them and you're just another guy. Ryan Mathews is turning into just another guy. BTW funny to some that most still are spelling his name with two Ts haha
